Quick – what would you prefer to do: Organize your inventory or create a social media strategy for your ecommerce store? Would you prefer to handle the intricacies of order fulfillment or research creative ways to increase traffic to your website?

Most ecommerce retailers would prefer to strategize and research instead of delving into inventory and order management. And the reason is simple: Inventory and order fulfillment are operational in nature, while marketing  your business is strategic. Strategic decisions directly and immediately impact your business and your bottom line. Operational decisions can certainly be less “fun” as they work behind the scenes and help streamline your business.Outsourcing order fulfillment is sometimes the best way to get warehouse inventory under control.

Do you consider inventory and order management a chore? Or even worse, a headache?  Inventory management involves planning your inventory, arranging pick-and-pack operations, accommodating seasonal demand, managing returns, personnel planning and forecasting, as well as  warehouse, vendor, and shipping management!  Let’s not forget that we haven’t  even touched upon  discounts, incentives, and promotions that retailers offer on a daily and seasonal basis to drive traffic and increase sales in your ecommerce  sector.
